HOW OUR FLOOR RUBBER FLOOR IS MADE
In children's play areas, cast rubber floors are an essential safety protection consisting of two layers. The first inner layer varies in thickness based on the height of the play structures and is made of rectified and reconditioned SBR. The second outer layer is the "wear carpet", a rubber floor that,both in play areas and in sports one is always 13-15 mm thick.
WHAT KIND OF RUBBER WE USE?
The "rubber" is a substance with elastic properties. Natural rubber - that is caucciù - is no longer usable because, over time, it has become an extremely expensive material due to its difficult availability. Therefore the research has developed very high performance and durability synthetic rubbers, such as EPDM rubber and SBR rubber.
Our poured rubber floors are made by a mix of rubber granules of various sizes and colors, mixed with special resins for a uniform elasticity over the entire surface. It is EPDM rubber colored in 100% paste, which, once spread, gives a natural and high quality, vivid appearance, which maintains the safety shockproof characteristics.
We realize the surface layer in two possible ways:
- 100% paste colored EPDM
- Melange: between colored EPDM and rectified and regenerated SBR
EPDM is ethylene-propylene diene rubber, a compound extremely resistant to atmospheric agents, heat and chemical agents.
SBR is styrene butadiene rubber. It has properties similar to those of natural rubber and offers excellent water resistance. There is also a particular version of EPDM, that is, a reproduction of synthetic mulch, available in beige, brown, brick red, green and dark green. There are two main characteristcs: it is perfect for areas that want to fit more harmoniously into an extremely natural environment, thematic environmental parks, riding schools, play areas in protected areas, etc.) and guarantees an even greater drainage level.
CHILD SAFETY FIRST OF ALL
Synthetic rubber flooring is designed primarily for the safety of children, in public and school playgrounds.
The dangers, more or less visible, are many. It is estimated, in fact, that about 15,000 injuries per year occur in areas for children in Italy. This is why we accurately calculate the perfect thickness of SBR rubber, that carpet underneath the colored surface, which acts as a real shock absorber of a fall impact.
Furthermore, choosing a cast rubber floor guarantees the possibility to install games of any height among those allowed by the legislation, because this material is able to cushion the blow like natural materials.

A well-made rubber casting fllor becomes a real element of a landscape, a shenography, which requires great technical preparation to be carried out. Indeed, all our rubber flooring are hand-made on site and without covering sprays or paints. Every single drawing is handmade by our staff, granule for grain, millimeter by millimeter. What does it mean? That all the decorative elements of the playground will remain intact over time without fading like the rest of the safety flooring.

An anti-shock rubber flooring is perfectly draining, guaranteeing practicability even after continuous days of rain, that results impossible on a natural surface in lawn / vegetable soil that would be wet and muddy. The playground or the school courtyard thus become more easily accessible for several days of a year.
RUBBER CASTING FOR HYGIENIC FLOORS
What happen if project involves water games? No problem! With EPDM rubber floors there will be no drainage problems or falling hazards. The rubber, in fact, fits perfectly to the realization of water parks, public or private swimming pools and water games. Being a draining pavement, whose color is not subject to wear in continuous contact with water, and anti-abrasive, it will result a safe walking surface and always beautiful to look at. Furthermore, especially for swimming pool areas, correct sanitation is essential to avoid the proliferation of fungi and bacteria: EPDM rubber is safe and hygienic because it is easy to clean with natural products (such as the classic Marseille soap) and / or with hydro-cleaners.
SAFE SURFACES FOR INCLUSIVE GAMES
Cast rubber flooring, as continuous synthetic surfaces, is the first fundamental element for an inclusive play area. In fact, a single-layer surface in cast rubber promotes the elimination of architectural barriers, without hindering movement within the play areas to disabled people and to strollers. Continuous flooring don’t present leaks on which it is possible to stumble or where the wheels can get stuck; the movement is fluid without variations in frictio. For this reason this kind of flooring is also perfect for tracks for tricycles or bicycles.
